In the UK, it’s National Stationery Week. A Celebration of all things stationery and the written word it’s self. It runs from the 23rd April 2018 to 29th April ( I did a post about this last year which you can check out Here
This is an opportunity for stationery retailers and makers can share what they have to offer. National Stationery Week’s aims are to encourage stationery admirers to talk about it and share details of products, brands and shops they love. To also campaign the importance of the handwriting and to encourage people to keep doing it. #writingmatters

This is a campaign to keep people of all ages to pick up a pen and paper and write. There are so many distractions and gadgets which often lead us away from handwriting anything. Writing is so individual to each and every person, I think it would really be a shame if people loosed that.
You see I’m not just a self-confessed bookworm but also a stationery addict! There I said it!!!!!! Gosh that feels better to get off my chest!!!!!!! A pretty notebook, pen’s, well anything like that really is fair game to me!!!! I mean I’m quite literally like a kid in a sweet shop when it comes to all things stationery and books of course!!!!! (It’s the small things!!!!) There is so much choose out there and one shop that gets me every time is Paperchase. They makes some really lovely products.
I truly believe in the writing matters campaign, I feel writing is so very important and we should encourage people to carry on doing it! Not only is it individual to each person, it just adds that personal touch. I have to admit I would much rather get a handwritten note than an email any day of the week. I have a pen friend in Greece and we have been handwriting letters now for 18 years and I still get excited when I receive a letter from her.
Do any of you guy’s have a pen friend? If so do you email or handwrite letters to each other? Do you still hand write or do you turn to you gadgets? Dose writing matter to you? I would love to hear you thoughts, so please feel free to comment!
