A tiny community is rocked by the discovery of a long-buried body.

For Stella Harvey the news is doubly shocking. The body was found in the garden of her childhood home- the home her family fled without explanation twenty-five years ago.

Now, questioning her past and desperate to unearth the truth, Stella returns to the isolated island.

But she quickly finds that the community she left isn’t as welcoming as she remembers- and that people will go to any length to protect their secrets.

One thing rings true…

You can’t bury the truth forever.

My Review

Welcome to today’s blog tour stop for Heidi Perks latest thriller Come Back For Me.

I would like to give my thanks to the lovely Rachel and Penguin Random House for asking me to take part in the wonderful blog tour and for kindly sending me a Hardback to read and give my honest thought’s on this novel for today.

Front cover for Come Back For Me by Heidi Perks

Heidi Perks is a new author to me, so I’m super intrigued to read her work.

Come Back For Me front cover is very striking from the open door, the lady walking through the door; wearing a red dress and shoes to the concrete steps she’s about to walk down. Outside the door you can make out it’s bright and see some greenery. The title is in bold white and the author’s name is in red both work great against the dark backing. If I was to see this in a book shop I would have picked it up for sure!

Evergreen island is a tiny island with a small tight nit community.

Stella Harvey used to live on the island years ago growing up until suddenly in the middle of the night and a shocking storm her parents pack them and her brother and sister off the island with no explanation. She was devastated as island life meant everything to her and was a place she was happy.

Back to the present day, Stella is now a family councillor helping families sorting out their issues, something her own family could have done with. Stella is shocked to the core on finding out the news that their has been a horrifying discovery of a long-buried body being found on Evergreen island; specifically at the end of her old garden. This get’s to Stella and makes her question not just the night they suddenly left the island but also her whole childhood on the island and the people that live there!  Stella finds herself compelled to return to Evergreen for answers… But what will she find out? Are their secrets to be found out? Did her parents lie to them all those years ago? If so why? Who is the women buried in her old back garden? What will Stella discover about the people that live their? Who was involved? Does Stella know the woman? Are the community hiding their own secrets?

Wow what a book guy’s! Heidi litrally had me hooked to this story, so much so I read it in three days which is a record for me and a testament to how blooming brilliant this book is!!!!!!! Her writing is truly captivating with interesting and complex characters. Heidi drip’s the story to the reader in a way that keeps the reader engaged and made me especially feel the need to read on to discover more. As I was reading I would make my prediction on what I thought would happen and was wrong at every twist, turns and revelations. This story certainly keeps the reader on their toes like a roller-coaster ride with many twist’s and turns!!!! I was gripped for sure!!

I think you can tell how much of an awesome read I thought Come Back For Me is and urge anyone who likes a good thriller to read this… you won’t be disappointed! I for one am going to put Heidi’s debut novel Now You See Her on my to-buy list right away!!!!!! I can’t wait to read her next one!
