My Review

Firstly I would like to thank the lovely Rachael from Penguin Random House for kindly asking me to take part in this blog tour and for sending me a ARC copy to read and share my thoughts on Lisa Gardner’s new standalone novel.

Before She Disappeared is Lisa’s first standalone in over 10 years. I previously have never read any of Lisa’s books so I was excited to dive in.

The reader meet’s Frankie Elkin, who takes it apron herself to search for missing people who have been long forgotten by police, the media and the general public. She is drawn to Boston to a rough neighbourhood where a local teenager; Angelique Badeau an Haitian immigrant that has suddenly gone missing. Frankie integrates herself into community life by getting a job in a bar and finding a place to stay, so she can unearth the truth to the young girls disappearance. Frankie is fragile herself fighting with her own demons as she goes. Can Frankie find Angelique alive? Will Frankie herself be in danger for poking around in this mystery? Will the police be helpful? Will the community welcome a new comer? Why does Frankie take this heavy weight apron her shoulders?

Before She Disappeared by Lisa Gardner was a great book to start 2021 with, it was just what I needed to get my teeth into. There are so many twists and turns in this story that I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough and it really kept me guessing till the very end (non of my guesses were right!) Lisa has highlighted a topic I knew nothing about and I found myself in ore of Frankie and what she was doing. The description is perfect allowing me to visualise the whole setting while reading. This thriller is very gripping and will leave you wanting to know more after every chapter. I highly recommend Before She Disappeared by Lisa Gardner! I will certainly be checking out all Lisa’s other books!!!!!!!

      1. Her earlier ones are probably not as good as she was honing her craft, but if you venture into any of her series, it will be best to start at the beginning. There are 11 in the DD Warren series, Alone is the first one. That is the series I like the best. We are all doing well thanks, I hope you are also.
